North Bengal University Vice-Chancellor Subires Bhattacharya arrested in SSC recruitment scam case

Siliguri, 19th September: CBI arrested Subires Bhattacharya, the vice-chancellor of North Bengal University and the former chairperson of SSC in the teacher recruitment scam case. It was claimed many times about his involvement in teacher recruitment corruption. After this 10 to 12 CBI officers launched a raid at the residence and office of Subires Bhattacharya and interrogated him. His flat in Bansdroni was also sealed by the CBI. Eventually, the arrest was made today.


It is to be noted that before this, the CBI arrested Shantiprasad Sinha and Ashok Saha, former advisory committee members of the School Service Commissioner, in the teacher recruitment corruption case. Kalyanmoy Gangopadhyay, former president of the Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad, has also been arrested in the case so far. Along with this, CBI is interrogating former Education Minister Partha Chatterjee who is currently in custody.
