North Bengal University Employees’ Association on strike in support of many demands

Siliguri, 30th August: In support of multiple demands, the North Bengal University Employees’ Association has called for a strike. The committee members, on Tuesday, protested by shutting down the work in the administrative building of university, demanding payment of dearness allowance, job guarantee for temporary teaching staff up to 60 years, retirement facility, and many more. 


Suman Chatterjee, general secretary of the North Bengal University Employees’ Association, said that they are preotesing in support of many demands including the payment of dearness allowance, which has not been processed despite a green signal from the High Court. In addition to this, the members of the teachers’ organization also participated in the strike.
