Rajganj, 19th September: Last evening, a person who went to immerse the idol of Lord Vishwakarma was swept away in the Fulbari barrage. However, no trace of him has been found so far. Since the morning, the Disaster Management Group is conducting a search for the said person. The missing person has been identified as Chunchun Sahani, a resident of Bagrakot, Ward No. 18 of Siliguri.
Reportedly, on Sunday evening, a group from Siliguri had gone for immersion of Lord Vishwakarma to the Fulbari Mahananda barrage. The group was having a picnic after the immersion. After this, while taking a bath, Chunchun got swept away in the river. Even after a day has passed, no trace of the said person has been found. The Phansidewa police are present at the spot and are investigating the case.
