No digital ration card, No free ration – Protest staged at Bagrakote Food Supply office

Siliguri, 01st April: The nation-wide lockdown in the wake of rising COVID-19 cases has made a huge economical impact on the daily wagers and their families. In this regard, the State Government has decided to provide free ration to the poor families.


However, people without new digital cards were not allowed to collect ration and were asked to contact the Bagrakote Food Supply Office today. When they found the Food Supply Office closed, a massive protest was staged outside the office over the incident.

In this context, District Controller Subhashish Palit stated that the people without digital ration cards will be given tokens from the second week of April, with the help of which they will receive free ration.
