Siliguri, 13th November: Based on a tip-off, the NJP police launched operations at the South Colony area adjacent to NJP and recovered fireworks worth lakhs. However, no one has been arrested in the incident.
It is to be noted that the Metropolitan Police has recovered banned firecrackers from various parts of the city ever since the Calcutta High Court has banned the use and sale of fireworks, this Diwali and Chhath Puja.
The police will keep strict surveillance during Diwali to ensure no rules are violated.
