Siliguri, 21st March: A passer-by was killed after being hit by a truck, three days ago. In the latest update, the police arrested the truck driver in connection with the incident. The accused was presented in the Jalpaiguri court, today.
According to sources, a passer-by was killed after being hit by a truck in the Gora More area of Eastern Bypass, three days ago. The locals had stopped the truck after the incident. However, the truck driver fled away from the scene.
Upon receiving the information of the incident, the NJP Police reached the spot, recovered the body and sent it to the North Bengal Medical College-Hospital for an autopsy. Meanwhile, the truck was brought to the police station. Based on the complaint lodged by the family members of the deceased, the police, engaged in the investigation, arrested Swadharaj Yadav, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, on Friday night. Upon being interrogated by the police, the truck driver stated that the truck lost its control due to which the accident occurred.
