NICU unit inaugurated in Naxalbari to boost medical services in rural areas

Naxalbari, 25th February: NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) has been inaugurated at Naxalbari’s Holy Palace Christian Hospital in order to boost and expand more on the medical services in rural areas. 


The said NICU unit for newborn babies has been inaugurated under the Ashiana program under the aegis of Inner Wheel Club of Siliguri Uttorayan. During this, ADG IGP North Bengal Ajay Kumar, Darjeeling District Superintendent of Police Santosh Nimbalkar, President of the organization Pooja Aggarwal, President Shweta Arwal, leading businessman Amit Aggarwal and doctors of the hospital were present.

Pooja Aggarwal said that this NICU unit will be inaugurated in the coming days to provide medical facilities to the common people in rural areas. As Naxalbari is quite far from Siliguri city it makes it quite difficult to save the newborn babies. ADG North Bengal Ajay Kumar said that the opening of NICU unit will benefit the people of the rural areas.
