National Alliance of People’s Movements took to the streets opposing the farm bill

Siliguri, 30th December: The National Alliance of People’s Movements took to the streets opposing the farm bill and in support of the farmer’s movement.


Medha Patekar, the leader of the organization as well as the leader of the ‘Narmada Bachao’ movement, held a press conference at the Siliguri Journalists Club today. She said that the farm bill has been introduced to provide profits to some big companies. Hence, they have started a nationwide movement against it.

Medha Patekar further informed that a sit-in protest will be staged in Chopra on Wednesday. She said that the products of big companies will be burnt and boycotted in Kolkata on January 01.


On the other hand, Amartya Sen, she said that they are targeted whenever anyone raises questions against BJP. Many social workers and many people associated with human rights have already been sent to jail.
