Bijanbari, 09th September: Darjeeling MP Raju Bista’s team came to the assistance of the victims of a fire that broke out at the house of Gopal Thapa Magar in Relling, Bijanbari.
It is to recall, on the eve of September 06, a two-storey wooden house was gutted in fire after a cooking gas cylinder leak led to a blast at Relling under Bijanbari. Reportedly, three families lived in the house. The fire was brought under control with the help of locals and the Bijanbari Fire Department. Their efforts managed to save three other houses nearby from the blaze.
Acting promptly, funds and relief items were provided to the victim’s family through MP Raju Bista’s PA Kumar Kartik and Sukhbir Tamang, today. The team was accompanied by Darjeeling District BJP Vice President L. M. Lama, GNLF Darjeeling Branch General Secretary Sandeep Limbu and others.
After reaching out to MP Raju Bista, Sandeep Limbu promised to build a permanent house for the families of the victims through the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) as soon as possible. He also appealed to all parties and organizations to extend a helping hand to the victim’s family.
