MP Raju Bista inspects damaged temporary bridge in Dudhia over Balason River

Dudhia, 19th June: Following reports of damage to a temporary bridge over the Balason River in Dudhia due to heavy rainfall, Darjeeling MP Raju Bista visited the site on Friday to inspect the situation.

He reviewed the condition of the affected area along with concerned officials and engineers and assessed the overall situation on the ground.

After the inspection, Raju Bista stated that continuous rainfall has led to a rise in river water levels, triggering landslides in several hilly areas and waterlogging in multiple locations. He also interacted with local residents and gathered information about the difficulties being faced due to disrupted connectivity.

The MP said that restoration of connectivity in Dudhia requires construction of a new temporary bridge at the earliest. He assured that the matter would be taken up with the state government and also discussed with the Chief Minister.
