Siliguri, 18th August: Sensation prevailed after the body of a minor girl was found hanging from a noose in Siliguri’s Niranjan Nagar area on August 16. A complaint has been lodged at the Ashighar outpost against five youths.
According to family sources, the minor left her house on August 15 and returned home at night in a state of disarray. Following this, her body was found hanging from a noose on August 16.
Reportedly, a suicide note was found in the deceased’s room, last night, which clearly mentioned the names of five youths. The family of the minor then lodged a written complaint against the five suspects at Ashighar outpost today.
The deceased’s father stated that for the last few months, his daughter was in a love affair with a youth from the area. Allegedly, he raped his daughter on the pretext of a trip. He strongly believes that his daughter hung herself to death out of embarrassment and humiliation.
Meanwhile, her alleged lover and his family members have been absconding since the incident. The Ashighar outpost police have launched an investigation into the incident.
