Siliguri, 29th June: A minor girl missing from Siliguri has been rescued safely from Patna by Bhakti Nagar Police. In connection with the case, a youth has been arrested.
According to police sources, the girl, a resident under Bhakti Nagar Police Station limits, went missing on 26th March. Despite repeated search efforts by her family, no trace of her was found, following which a written complaint was lodged at Bhakti Nagar Police Station regarding her disappearance.
Based on the complaint, police launched an investigation and identified a youth named Rohit Sharma. Police suspected that he had taken the minor away from Siliguri. Acting on technical inputs and mobile tower location tracking, police traced the accused to Patna.
A team of Bhakti Nagar Police reached Patna and successfully rescued the minor girl safely. The accused was later arrested and brought back to Siliguri.
The accused was produced before the Jalpaiguri court. Police have initiated further investigation into the case.
