Mayor Goutam Deb took stock of Siliguri District Hospital to ensure its development

Siliguri, 17th September: Siliguri District Hospital received two awards in the state’s ‘Kayakalp’ (Sushree) programme. The hospital secured first place in a total of eight categories including patient service, security, sanitation, bio-medical waste, and administrative activities under the said scheme. In order to help the hospital excel in many more services, the Siliguri Municipal Corporation has taken initiative for its development. Today Mayor Goutam Deb took stock of Siliguri District Hospital. It is to recall, Deb initiated several projects to improve Siliguri District Hospital while he was the In-charge of the North Bengal Development Department.


As per the first phase of the development project, ‘Maa Canteen’ will be constructed on the Siliguri District Hospital’s premises and the land has already been allotted for its construction. Also, there is a problem of water in the hospital which the Mayor has assured to solve soon.

On the other hand, the office of the hospital superintendent had been running in the hospital’s quarter for a long time. In this regard, Mayor Goutam Deb said that there is a need to build an administrative building in the hospital which will soon be taken care of.
