Mayor Goutam Deb held meeting with district administration and nursing home management 

Siliguri, 14th October: The city’s under the grip of dengue terror with increasing number of cases day by day. On the other hand, the family members of the patients are vexed and worried about the bill charges of the nursing home and the Swasthya Saathi card. In regard to the said subjects, the Mayor of Siliguri Municipal Corporation, Goutam Deb held a meeting with the district administration and nursing home management at Circuit House (State Guest House) today.


Addressing the media after the meeting, Mayor Goutam Deb said that one of the public benefit schemes of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Swasthya Saathi Card, was introduced for the convenience of the common people. He alleged that while the people in Kolkata are getting the benefits of this scheme without any problem, the citizens of Siliguri are not enjoying the same. Thus, the Mayor held a meeting with the management of the nursing home to look into the matter properly. 

Furthermore, he spoke to take strict action against any nursing homes or hospitals that will not recognize the card. If a complaint is received, then the district administration will take strict action against such nursing homes, he added. On the other hand, the district administration has also issued show-cause notices to 12 nursing homes in Siliguri for not following the dengue protocol.
