Fulbari, 18th April: Sensation prevailed after a decomposed body of an individual was recovered from an abandoned factory in Jiaganj area adjacent to Fulbari. The deceased has been identified as Atanu Kar, originally a resident of Birpara, but was living in a rented accommodation for several years in Rajiv Nagar area adjacent to Fulbari.
According to reports, Atanu worked as a physiotherapist and went missing about two months ago. Subsequently, the family members lodged a missing complaint at the New Jalpaiguri police station.
On Thursday, the New Jalpaiguri police recovered the body of the deceased from a room of the factory and transported it to the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) for a post-mortem examination. Currently, the police are engaged in further investigation.
