Cooch Behar, 18th May: A tragic incident occurred in the Bilsi area of Fulbari II Gram Panchayat under Tufanganj Block I, where a man lost his life due to a lightning strike. The deceased has been identified as Gopal Barman.
According to family sources, Gopal was in the field retrieving cows when the lightning struck. He was immediately rescued and taken to Tufanganj Divisional Hospital, but doctors declared him brought dead. The incident has left his family devastated and overwhelmed with grief.
