Leopard dies after falling into the water reservoir of Hansqua tea garden in Bagdogra 

Bagdogra, 23rd October: A leopard died after falling into the water reservoir of Hansqua tea garden in Bagdogra. Reportedly, early hours of today, while working in the tea garden, the workers spotted the said leopard in the water reservoir. 


 

After this, the Bagdogra Forest Department and Bagdogra Police were informed about the incident. As soon as the news was received, ranger Samiran Raj of Bagdogra Forest Department reached the spot along with his team. After which the carcass of the leopard was recovered from the water reservoir. 


 

Locals said that this morning the leopard was trying to come out of the water. However, due to the depth of the water reservoir, he could not get out of there. Hence, he drowned to death in the water. According to forest department sources, the dead leopard will be sent to the Bengal Safari Park for post-mortem. However, questions are being raised about the water reservoir not being covered.
