Leopard caged in Alipurduar’s Dalgaon Tea Estate

Alipurduar, 31st January: A leopard was trapped in a cage set up by the forest department in Dalgaon Tea Estate of Alipurduar district.


Reportedly, on Wednesday, the tea workers woke by the snarl of a leopard at around 7 a.m. Subsequently, the locals spotted the caged leopard and informed the forest department officials.

Upon being informed, the department personnel arrived from the Dakshin Khairbari Leopard Rehabilitation Center and undertook the rescue measures. However, panic gripped locals claimed the presence of more leopards in the tea garden.
