Kolkata International Film Festival 2021 to be held virtually: Mamata Banerjee

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, on Tuesday, announced that the Kolkata International Film Festival 2021 will be held virtually, on a smaller scale.


Banerjee took to Twitter to make the announcement. As per her tweet, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan will attend the inaugural event on January 08.

“Together we will overcome this pandemic. But the show must go on. We are going ahead with #KIFF 2021 virtually, on a smaller scale. Glad that my brother @iamsrk will join us virtually at the inaugural event on Jan 8, 4pm. Watch Kolkata International Film Festival live,” the CM tweeted.

The 26th Kolkata International Film Festival was scheduled to take place from 05th to 12th November, 2020. However, due to COVID-19 pandemic, it was rescheduled for 08th to 15th January, 2021.
