Kidnap attempt leaves locals of Surya Sen Colony NJP in shock

Siliguri, 29th July: Miscreants kidnapped a 09-year-old boy and threw him out the vehicle several kilometers away and, 500 meters from the police station. The incident created a stir among the locals in Suryasen Colony E-Block area under the NJP police station.


Reportedly, Sayan Das son of Dilip Das, a local resident of the area had gone to buy food items from a nearby shop on Thursday evening. Allegedly three people called him and grabbed by his mouth and forced him into a Maruti car. Later, the three miscreants threw him out of the vehicle in front of Sharda School in NJP and fled. After which, a toto driver found him and brought him home.

Sayan Das alleged that the three men were wearing a mask and thus, he could not identify them. They beat him up and threw him in front of Sharda School. After the incident, a written complaint has been lodged with the NJP police station. The parents of Sayan demanded strict action and punishment be given to the culprits.


Meanwhile, the locals are in a state of panic concerning safety after the incident that took place in their area. They also expressed their anger against the police authorities. Allegedly, despite being near the NJP police station, the area remains a haven for drug addicts throughout the day. Outsiders also keep coming and going. Locals accused the police of not paying any heed to their woes. On the other hand, the police have started investigating the matter.
