Khalpara Out Post police arrest woman for duping people under pretext of providing government job

Siliguri, 05th August: Khalpara Out Post personnel arrested a woman who allegedly scammed lakhs of rupees on the pretext of giving the unemployed youths a job in the Mini Branch Secretariat Uttar Kanya. The alleged accused has been identified as Tumpa Ghosh. The police have registered a case of fraud and cheating against her.


According to the police sources, Tumpa Ghosh duped lakhs of rupees from a woman named Moumita Ghosh, a resident of Ghoshpara. Moumita registered a case at Khalpara Out Post yesterday. In the complaint, Moumita claimed that Tumpa had taken two lakh rupees in the name of getting her a job in Uttar Kanya. But to her dismay, she did not get the job that was promised to her. Tumpa would only postpone the dates and would give numerous reasons. Soon after, she realized that she had become a victim of fraud. 

The Khalpara police presented Tumpa before the Siliguri Court today and will keep her in remand for five days for further investigation.
