Jaigaon’s Indo-Bhutan border gate opened today after two and half years of closure

Alipurduar, 23rd September: After two and a half years of the Indo-Bhutan border being closed down due to the Covid pandemic, the Bhutan Gate of Jaigaon, a city of Bengal, has been opened for the people and tourists today. This morning Bhutan Gate was opened in the presence of Bhutan Prime Minister Lotay Tshering. A program was organized by both countries to commemorate this special occasion. After opening the Bhutan Gate, many people crossed the border and went to Bhutan.


The entire Jaigaon city is seen beaming with happiness and an atmosphere of excitement is witnessed amongst the people. Bhutan Prime Minister Lotay Tshering said that after overcoming the situation of Covid, they are thrilled to open the Bhutan Gate. A variety of arrangements have been made for the tourists.
