Hunger strike by Junior Doctors continues at North Bengal Medical College and Hospital

Siliguri, 08th October: The hunger strike and protest by junior doctors at North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) is ongoing, as they continue to push for their 10-point demands.

The protest began last Sunday, with two junior doctors, Sauvik Banerjee and Alok Kumar Verma, starting an indefinite hunger strike on Monday. By Tuesday, two more former members of NBMCH, Dr. Raj Barman and Dr. Sangita Jana, had joined the strike.

Despite the ongoing hunger strike, the other junior doctors are ensuring that normal patient services at the hospital remain unaffected. They have declared that the strike will persist until all their demands are fulfilled.
