Kharibari, 11th February: An audacious incident of theft unfolded where miscreants broke into the house of a former army officer in the Manjay Jote area under the Kharibari block and made off with valuables and cash.
According to reports, the incident took place on Saturday night at the house of former army official Subhash Chhetri. The thieves broke into the almirah and stole a significant quantity of gold ornaments including cash worth Rs 10,000. However, house owner Subhash Chhetri was not aware of the incident as he lived in the lower portion of the residence.
The matter was reported earlier on Sunday and a formal complaint has been lodged at the Kharibari police station. Currently, the police are engaged in further investigation.
