Siliguri, 10th August: A health center was inaugurated in Ward No. 33 under the aegis of Siliguri Municipal Corporation, to facilitate the vaccination of children and provide first aid to the residents. Apart from Ward No. 33, primary health centers were also inaugurated in Ward No. 01 and 46 from today.
Mayor Goutam Deb, Deputy Mayor Ranjan Sarkar and Borough Committee No. 02 Chairperson Md. Alam Khan inaugurated the health center in Ward No. 33. Apart from the officials, renowned doctors of the city including Dr J B Saha, A B Tarafdar and others were present.
Speaking in this regard, Mayor Gautam Deb said that the state government has granted permission to set up nine new health centres in SMC. Earlier there were two health centres and three were inaugurated today. The Mayor added that the rest of the centers will also be set up in the coming days. Doctors and health workers will be appointed in every center, he further added.
