Govt offices in Siliguri stage two-hour strike in support of three-point demands

Siliguri, 30th August: Government employees went on strike for two hours in various government offices across the state in support of their three-point demands, including hike in dearness allowance. 


Likewise, the strike was also supported in Siliguri. The members of the Darjeeling district of the State Co-ordination Committee also raised their voice in the demand for recruitment on vacant posts and increase in the salary of temporary employees. The protesters demonstrated in front of the office of Land and Land Revenue Department, on Tuesday. 

Government employees in the state allege that dearness allowance of government department employees has been increased in other states, while the same has not been implemented in Bengal. In this regard, the district secretary of the organization Mrityunjay Sarkar said that they will continue their agitation till the demands are not fulfilled.
