Firefighters extinguish house fire using well water in Rajganj

Rajganj, 03rd April: A house in Bhelki Para, Sahudangi, caught fire, prompting firefighters and police to control the blaze using buckets of water from a well due to the absence of an accessible road for the fire engine.

Reportedly, the fire broke out at the residence of Biswajit Roy in Bhelki Para, Sahudangi, under Binnaguri Gram Panchayat of Rajganj Block. All furniture and important documents were reduced to ashes. Locals initially attempted to douse the flames before notifying Bhorer Alo Police Station and the Fulbari Fire Brigade.

However, the fire engine could not reach the site due to the narrow road. As a result, firefighters and police arrived on foot and began extinguishing the flames using well water.

House owner Aduri Roy stated that no one was at home during the incident and that they learned about the fire from neighbors.

A firefighter mentioned that they responded swiftly but were unable to bring the fire engine due to the road’s narrowness. The fire was ultimately brought under control using buckets of water drawn from a well.

An initial investigation suggests that a short circuit may have caused the fire.
