Siliguri, 22nd April: In a significant breakthrough ahead of the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections, the Pradhan Nagar police have apprehended an individual with a firearm in Siliguri. The arrested accused has been identified as Arjun Prasad.
Reportedly, acting on a tip-off on Sunday night, the Pradhan Nagar police apprehended Arjun from Rajendra Nagar area of Ward No. 01 in Siliguri. Upon initiating a search, the police recovered a firearm and three live ammunition from his possession.
According to police sources, the arrested accused Arjun Prasad is a notorious criminal with several charges against him. Last night, he was spotted roaming around in the said area with criminal intentions, prompting his arrest. Currently, the police are engaged in further investigation.
