Siliguri, 10th September: Fire department officials inspected the fire safety arrangements at a shopping mall on Sevoke Road in Siliguri on Thursday.
The inspection was conducted to assess the effectiveness of the mall’s fire safety infrastructure and determine whether the systems would function properly in an emergency. Fire department officials and personnel inspected the arrangements on site.
The inspection covered not only the mall’s main fire safety system but also the safety arrangements inside various shops operating within the mall. Officials examined the types of firefighting measures available at different locations, whether fire extinguishers were in proper condition and whether they could be used when required.
Fire department official Ambar Deb said, “Today, on the instructions of the higher authority, we inspected the fire safety infrastructure of the mall. The fire safety arrangements of all the shops inside the mall were also inspected.”
