Siliguri, 10th September: An illegally constructed room behind a multi-storey building in Siliguri’s Ward No. 10 was demolished by the Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC) on Thursday following a direction from the High Court.
The SMC conducted an operation in the area and demolished the room allegedly constructed illegally behind the multi-storey building.
According to local sources, the room had been constructed at the rear of the building beyond the approved building plan. The construction had reportedly faced objections from the concerned parties for a long time, eventually leading the matter to court.
Following the High Court’s direction, the SMC initiated the demolition of the alleged illegal construction.
