Siliguri, 10th September: A voluntary organisation from Siliguri staged a symbolic protest at Ektiasal Tileshwari Adhikari High School on Thursday over the incident of assault on a headmaster at a higher secondary school in Jalpaiguri district.
Members of the organisation visited the school and organised a programme with the headmaster and all the teachers. During the programme, they addressed the students about social responsibility and the importance of respecting teachers.
The organisation members also honoured the teachers by placing flowers at their feet and apologised on behalf of the organisation over the incident.
The organisation stated that the incident of assaulting a teacher was highly condemnable and that the entire society was ashamed of it. They also appealed to everyone to remain aware and work towards preventing such incidents in the future.
