Siliguri, 12th September: Fire Department officials inspected the fire safety arrangements at a prominent shopping mall on Sevoke Road in Siliguri.
The officials inspected various parts of the mall and checked whether the fire safety systems, emergency exits, water supply arrangements and equipment used during fire emergencies were in proper working condition.
Siliguri Fire Station Officer Dharmendra Krishna Roy said that fire safety arrangements are being inspected at various important establishments and commercial areas across the city. He said fire safety systems at the mall, along with different types of equipment used during fire emergencies, were checked.
The officials also examined whether the water pumps and other fire-fighting systems were functioning properly.
Such inspections and fire safety audits will continue at different locations across the city in the coming days.
