Siliguri, 11th September: A joint team of the Special Task Force (STF), Siliguri GRP’s SOG and NJP GRP seized Yaba tablets worth around Rs 1 crore during an operation at New Jalpaiguri Railway Station. Four people have been arrested in connection with the seizure.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Chaiful Haque (37), Ismail Ali (27), Lovely Bibi (35) and Rozina Khatun (31). All four are reportedly residents of Cooch Behar.
According to information, the joint team stopped four people in a suspicious condition at New Jalpaiguri Railway Station and conducted a search. A large quantity of Yaba tablets was reportedly recovered from three bags and a ladies’ bag in their possession.
Police have registered a case against the accused under the NDPS Act and launched an investigation. All four were produced before the Jalpaiguri Court on Friday.
