Siliguri, 11th September: Matigara Police arrested a youth with six suspected stolen mobile phones during an operation based on a tip-off. The accused has been identified as Shubhanil Goswami (21), reportedly a resident of Satbhaiya area in Naxalbari.
According to information, police conducted an operation in the Vishwas Colony area of Matigara late Thursday night. During the operation, a suspected youth was stopped and searched, following which six mobile phones were recovered from his possession.
When asked to produce valid documents for the mobile phones, he was unable to provide any documents. During the preliminary investigation, police suspect that the accused had allegedly stolen mobile phones from different areas, including Siliguri, and was carrying them with the intention of selling them.
Police are investigating the recovered mobile phones and the circumstances surrounding the case. The arrested accused was produced before the Siliguri Court on Friday.
