Siliguri, 11th September: Fire Department Officials inspected the fire safety arrangements at City Centre in Matigara, Siliguri.
The officials assessed the effectiveness of the shopping mall’s safety measures in the event of an emergency such as a fire. Fire extinguishers, emergency exit routes and other aspects of the fire safety system were inspected during the visit.
Following a series of fire incidents reported from different parts of the state recently, the administration has stepped up efforts to review fire safety measures. The inspection at City Centre is believed to be part of this initiative.
The inspection also focused on the need to further strengthen the mall’s fire safety arrangements.
