Bagdogra, 27th April: A sudden outbreak of fire at a lodge located in Bagdogra Station More, caused a stir in the area. Significantly, along with the lodge and eye-checkup centre was also affected.
On Saturday, upon noticing the raging inferno, the locals attempted to douse the fire. Subsequently, a fire engine from Matigara arrived at the spot. Later, two more engines arrived from Naxalbari and Siliguri and brought the situation under control.
Reportedly, a generator was switched on due to power cut in the area. The preliminary analysis indicates that the inferno was sparked from the generator. Consequently, there has been a loss worth lakhs of rupees.
