Rajganj, 16th April: In a shocking incident, a young man was allegedly murdered following a family dispute in the Belakoba Outpost area under Rajganj Police Station. Police have arrested the deceased’s father and brother in connection with the case.
According to police sources, the deceased has been identified as Dipankar Roy (25), a resident of Dikapara under Shikarpur Post Office in the Rajganj police station area.
Reports indicate that the incident occurred on Wednesday night when a family dispute escalated into violence. The youth’s father, Amar Roy, and brother, Kishore Roy, allegedly assaulted him. They reportedly beat him with fists and sticks, causing severe injuries that led to his death.
Upon receiving information, police rushed to the spot and arrested the accused father and brother. The body has been sent to Rajganj Rural Hospital for post-mortem examination.
In connection with the case, the deceased’s wife, Jaya Hazra, lodged a written complaint at the police station. Based on the complaint, a case has been registered and an investigation has been initiated.
A forensic team also visited the scene to collect evidence. Police stated that a thorough probe is underway to ascertain all aspects of the incident.
