Siliguri, 27th July: DD arrested another accused in the fake police recruitment case adding to six accused so far. The arrested has been identified as Chanchal Poddar, a driver involved in the racket, from Baghajatin colony last night.
After investigating DD has found that the main kingpins of the case are Alok Das and Partho Mali. The accused used to come to Siliguri to give training to the candidates. After this, Chanchal Poddar would drive them to the designated places like Mirik, Dudhia and Siliguri for training purposes.
According to DD sources, when the case was handed over to the team on Sunday, the main accused Alok Das and Partho Mali were produced in the Siliguri court and were taken on remand for four days. After strict interrogation, the duo revealed the name of their accomplice Chanchal Poddar. Last night Chanchal was arrested and was produced before the Siliguri court today. Six people have been arrested so far.
