Siliguri, 07th September: The Enforcement Branch seized seven domestic gas cylinders during a raid at a market near the NJP railway station on Monday, following complaints of their alleged commercial use in hotels and shops. Personnel from the NJP police station also participated in the operation.
According to reports, several shops and hotels in the market had allegedly been using domestic gas cylinders instead of commercial cylinders for a prolonged period. Following the complaints, officials searched a number of shops during the raid and seized a total of seven domestic gas cylinders.
The administration stated that the use of domestic gas cylinders for commercial purposes is illegal and poses significant safety risks. Officials indicated that similar enforcement drives are likely to continue in the coming days to check such violations.
