Bagdogra, 28th September: The lifeless body of an elderly woman was recovered from the bank of the Hulia River near Kamalpur Tea Garden in Bagdogra. The deceased has been identified as Jitani Lohar (80).
Reports indicate that the elderly woman had been living with her daughter. Due to mental health issues, she would occasionally leave the house without informing. On Friday night, she went missing again. However, this time her deceased body was found near the riverbank on Saturday afternoon.
Upon receiving the news, the Bagdogra police rushed to the scene, retrieved the body, and sent it to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) for an autopsy. At present, the entire incident is under further investigation.
