Siliguri, 17th September: This time, Siliguri will also witness Durga Puja Carnival just like the one in Kolkata. Big, historical clubs are to participate in the said carnival. The carnival will be an epitome of Bengal’s tradition highlighting the Bengali culture. A grand procession will also be a part of the carnival.
The carnival is going to be held in Siliguri on 7th October. The preliminary discussions regarding carnival have already been discussed and completed. The final touch and work will be completed in a few days. Mayor Goutam Deb held a meeting with the officials of the Municipal Corporation and the police today. In this meeting, they discussed the possibilities of the route and the events or programs that will be part of the said carnival.
Mayor Goutam Deb told that 25 to 30 worshipers will be involved in the carnival. The carnival will commence from Bidhan Road which will pass through Hillcart Road, Sevoke More. After the procession, a cultural program will be organized at Airview More. He also said that the road will be inspected along with the police from Hashmi Chowk on Sunday. The names of the clubs have been finalized and also discussed with the said clubs.
