Siliguri, 25th May: Tension gripped the Sarada More area near Madhya Shanti Nagar, adjacent to Siliguri’s Eastern Bypass, after a violent clash broke out between two local groups. Several people were injured during the confrontation, which reportedly involved the use of iron rods and sharp weapons.
According to sources, the dispute began after a local youth allegedly assaulted another on Sunday night. This led to a heated altercation between two factions in the area. When women from one of the households attempted to intervene, they were also attacked.
The injured individuals were quickly rescued and taken to Siliguri District Hospital for treatment. Following the incident, police from the Ashighar Outpost arrived at the scene and managed to bring the situation under control.
Both parties have filed written complaints at the police station, and an investigation into the matter is currently underway.
