Siliguri, 06th September: The Detective Department of the Siliguri Police Commissionerate has launched an investigation after the five-member gang of robbers was caught in the Fulbari area under NJP police station and taken into 10-day police custody.
According to the information provided by the Special Task Force, the Detective Department nabbed five miscreants from the aforementioned area. Two firearms, two motorcycles, cartridges, and several fake currencies were recovered from their possession.
The arrested accused have been identified as Shahnawaz Ansari, Mithun Goala, Mahinder Yadav, Mohammad Ahmed, and Ajay Kumar. Out of them, Mithun is a resident of Fatapukur in Jalpaiguri and the rest are residents of Bihar. The miscreants had an intention to loot around 50-60 lakh rupees from the house of a businessman in Siliguri.
The Detective Department of the Police Commissionerate has taken all the five into custody and started an investigation into the whole incident.
