Siliguri, 18th August: The dead body of a minor girl was found hanging from a noose in East Hatiyadanga in Fulbari area. The deceased has been identified as Sonali Roy (11) a student of Class V of Hatiyadanga Primary School.
According to the locals, Sonali’s parents are daily wage labourers and had left for their daily work this morning. Sonali’s younger brother was at home and Sonali went to her grandparent’s house after her parents left for work. On returning home, the parents found her body hanging from a noose.
The police of Ashighar Outpost reached the spot, recovered her body, and sent it for post-mortem. The police have started investigating the whole incident. However, the reason for taking such a big step of suicide by a minor is not clear yet.
