CPI (M) demonstrated North Bengal University demanding resignation of Vice Chancellor

Siliguri, 23rd September: CPI (M) held a protest today demanding the resignation of Vice Chancellor of North Bengal University. It is to be noted that Subires Bhattacharya, the Vice Chancellor of the University, is under CBI custody for the last four days. North Bengal University has been without a vice-chancellor for more than 90 hours, citing this reason, CPIM has organized a protest meeting demanding the removal of Subires Bhattacharya.


CPI (M) workers and supporters staged a rally in front of Gate No. 2 of NBU and tension arose regarding this incident. During this, CPM’s District Secretary Saman Pathak, CPI (M) President Goutam Ghosh, Tapas Sarkar, and other members were present. CPI (M) President Goutam Ghosh warned of launching a massive agitation in the coming days if the Vice-Chancellor does not resign at the earliest.
