Cooch Behar, 01st April: Trinamool Congress (TMC) candidate Jagadish Chandra Barma Basunia of the Cooch Behar Lok Sabha constituency along with TMC President Abhijit Dey Bhowmik visited the disaster-affected areas to assess the damage and oversee relief operations.
According to reports, several areas in Cooch Behar and Jalpaiguri districts faced significant damage, leaving many families in distress. Numerous houses in the Kholta-Marichbari area of Block No. 02 in Cooch Behar suffered severe damage due to the storm. Tragically, several individuals sustained injuries during the incident. In addition to the predicament, the power supply in the area has also been disrupted.
In response to the crisis, the local administration swiftly arranged the necessary supplies to accommodate the affected families. Earlier on Monday, TMC candidate Basunia arrived at the location upon receiving the news of the situation.
