CM Mamata Banerjee to reach Siliguri today on 3-day visit

Siliguri, 14th December: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is scheduled to visit North Bengal on a three-day tour starting Monday. During her tour, the CM will be addressing two rallies and will be holding administrative meetings.


According to the information, the Chief Minister will hold administrative programmes in Jalpaiguri and Cooch Behar while staying in Siliguri. She is also likely to meet Gorkha Janmukti Morcha President Bimal Gurung. However, the meeting between the duo has not been officially announced.

As per administrative sources, after arriving at Bagdogra from Kolkata by air this afternoon, the CM will head towards Uttar Kanya, the Branch Secretariat of West Bengal Government in Fulbari. After spending the night at Kanyashree Bungalow in Uttar Kanya, she will leave for Jalpaiguri by helicopter from the helipad constructed on the grounds of the Police Battalion near Fulbari tomorrow.


The TMC supremo is scheduled to address a large public meeting of the Trinamool Congress at the ABPC Ground in Jalpaiguri on Tuesday and Rash Mela Ground in Cooch Behar on Wednesday. The rallies will begin from 12 noon on both the days.

The party supremo will be leaving for Cooch Behar soon after the meeting in Jalpaiguri on Tuesday itself as she is scheduled to inaugurate Maharaja Jitendra Narayan Medical College and Hospital in the evening on the same day.

Strict security arrangements have been made in Siliguri and Jalpaiguri in view of the Chief Minister’s visit.
