Siliguri, 27th December: The Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) took up the ‘Thali Bajao’ programme in Siliguri demanding the repeal of the center’s farm bill.
Reportedly, the Thali Bajao programme was taken up in Siliguri near the statue of Mahatma Gandhi under the initiative of the CITU Zonal Committee as well as the Darjeeling District Committee. A rally was also taken out which toured various parts o the city and concluded in front of the CITU office.
It is to be noted that the farmers’ movement is being carried out in Delhi demanding the repeal of the farm bill. In the course, several farmers have been martyred. Hence, the farmers’ ‘Thali Bajao’ programme will continue during the Prime Minister’s ‘ Mann Ki Baat ‘on Sunday.
