Chaos engulfed Siliguri’s Ward No. 44 when a fire broke on the eve of Diwali

Siliguri, 25th October: Stir arose in the area of Siliguri when flames of fire gripped the celebration of Diwali on Monday night. Reportedly the locals spotted flames and black smoke coming out of a house in the Paresh Nagar area of Ward No. 44 of Siliguri Municipal Corporation. The fire department was immediately informed and soon two fire engines reached the spot. After almost an hour’s effort, the fire was brought under control.

As per the information, 8 motorbikes parked in the house were burnt to ashes. The cause of the fire has not been ascertained yet and the department is investigating. On the other hand, ward councilor Preetika Biswas reached the spot as soon as the news of the incident was received. She said the bikes used for rent were kept in the house where the fire broke out.

Speaking on the cause of the fire, it has been assumed that it probably spread from spilt petrol which may have come in contact with the lamp or candle. However, there is no report of any casualty in the incident. The dealer who rents the bike will also be questioned in this incident.
