Phansidewa, 09th December: A cattle smuggler has been arrested in the Indo-Bangladesh border area. The arrested accused has been identified as Chanchal Sarkar (30), a resident of Panchagarh district in Bangladesh.
It has been learned that the police questioned a youth in the Indo-Bangladesh border area of Phansidewa, on Wednesday night. He was then arrested due to inconsistency in his statements.
According to police sources, Sarkar was involved in a cattle smuggling ring. He was sent to Siliguri court today.
